What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectables that restore and replace the lost volume without undergoing surgery. The procedure is performed in a medical office setting without the use of sedation on an outpatient basis.

The volumizers or Fillers are structurally similar to your natural collagen. In our office, dermal fillers are injected by an experienced board-certified physician. They can either decrease the appearance/depth of wrinkles or increase the size of facial structures.

How do you classify Dermal Fillers?

The Dermal fillers can be classified into two groups

  1. Permanent Fillers or Irreversible fillers
  2. Temporary fillers or Reversible Fillers

We do not use any sort of permanent fillers in our office.

Semi-Permanent Fillers or Irreversible Fillers

Bellafill®

  1. Bellfill is an FDA approved collagen dermal filler. It is a unique, injectable collagen filler with microspheres. It can instantly smooth facial wrinkles for beautiful, natural-looking results that last.

RADIESSE

Radiesse is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Once injected, it provides immediate volume and correction but continues to work by stimulating the body to produce its own natural collagen.

Why should you consider Dermasculpt Cannulas for injecting Dermal Fillers?

Dr. Shanthala is also a certified in using Dermasculpt Cannulas for filler injections. The cannula is a soft, tiny alternative to using a needle, allowing the provider to inject filler with practically no pain or bruising for the patient. It also allows a single point of entry of an area for wider coverage and less sticks.
