Why Daily Photos after laser coring Updates Are Essential
To monitor your post ultraclear healing and identify early complications, daily photo updates are required: These photos help to rule out if there are any signs of infection or unnatural healing.

Key Laser Coring Aftercare Guidelines (First 6 Weeks)
• Strict sun avoidance — no tanning or direct exposure after UltraClear or CO2 laser. Wear wide-brim hats.
• No harsh skincare — avoid exfoliants, acids, and retinoids unless advised. Do not use your own products with out speaking with Dr. Shanthala.
• No makeup or facials — avoid for 4–8 weeks unless cleared by Dr. Shanthala.
• No exercise or sweating — prevent irritation/infection until skin is fully healed.
• No hot water or steam — avoid hot showers or saunas on the face.
• Avoid facial pressure — sleep on your back; don’t rub or press on treated skin.
• Maintain hygiene — short, clean nails; no polish; clean hands and surfaces.
• No hair coloring — for at least 4 weeks or until you’re cleared.
• No facial massages — avoid for 6–8 weeks.
Preventing Pigmentation after Laser Coring
• Start skin-brightening agents as instructed before UltraClear Laser & Continue as per protocol after Re-epithelialization.
• Essential for darker skin tones and patients undergoing ablative laser.
• Consider using brightening agents before and after treatment.
Antiviral Prophylaxis Before Laser Resurfacing
Laser can trigger cold sores (HSV):
• Valacyclovir 500 mg twice daily:Prescription only.
• Begin 2 days before treatment
• Continue for 8–10 days
• Extend if skin hasn’t healed fully
• Use tube Aquaphor (not jars) to avoid contamination
Must-Have Supplies Before UltraClear Laser Treatment
Prepare the following:
1.Valacyclovir 500 mg (prescription required)
2.Antiseptic Spray: Lasersyn, Puracyn, or SkinSmart
3.Sterile Gauze (4×4): Large supply needed
4.Vinegar Soaks: Mix 2 tsp white vinegar with 8 oz distilled water (store in fridge)
5.Moisturizer: Aquaphor tube, Alastin Recovery Balm, or Anti-Age Biogel
6.Silicone Healing Products: Stratapharm for redness/scarring
7.Physical Sunscreen: Zinc oxide + Titanium dioxide (EltaMD, SkinMedica, Alastin)
8.Simple Moisturizer: Vanicream or Avene Cicalphate

First 7 Days: Detailed Routine After UltraClear
• Do not use tap water, home towels, or harsh soaps.
• Clean face using vinegar-soaked sterile gauze every 2–3 hours.
• After cleansing, spray with Lasersyn/Puracyn, then apply Aquaphor.
• Use Cetaphil gentle cleanser only at night (if needed).
• Do not use ice on the skin.
• Aquaphor or Alastin balm should be reapplied every few hours.

Day 6 to Day 14 After 2910nm Laser
• Laser marks fade gradually; redness, swelling, and itching are normal.
• Do not pick or peel skin manually.
• Contact your provider if you experience excessive itching or acne-like eruptions.
• Apply physical sunscreen only after Aquaphor is discontinued (around Day 5–7).
8. Healing Process of Post UltraClear Laser-Coring: first 3 months - What to expect
The laser marks will slowly fade around day five or six; sometimes, it may take several weeks to couple of months, depending upon the patient’s underlying immune condition. Do not manually rub them off.
- Expect reactive edema or erythema and itching or redness for several weeks. Milia & Acne type of breakouts can occur. But do not use your old product until you speak with your practioner.
- Itching might occur, do not scratch the skin, use the vinegar soaks & lasersyn spray. Rarely excessive itching could be due to sub clinical infection or contact dermatitis from the products. If its very severe contact your practioner.
- Apply physical sunscreen with Zinc & Titanium after 5 to 7 days, When you are not applying Aquaphor.

General Recovery Guidelines after Ablative and Non Ablative Fractional Lasers
- Wash your hands. Be very patient with the healing process; it’s worth it in the end. Don’t rush the process. At all times, avoid scratching or rubbing or exfoliating. Do not use home peels or scrubs.
- Keep hands clean, avoid long nails and nail polish, put your hair back, avoid getting vinegar soaks in the eye, and keep it sterile using laser spray. Also, clean your glasses and phone screens.
- Avoid touching your face, and always wash your hands with disinfecting soap.
- Use only the skincare products your physician recommends to avoid complications.
- Avoid makeup for 2 weeks or until you see your doctor for a follow-up. Use tinted sun screen during that period. It may be longer if the skin is not re-epithelialized.
- Avoid shaving until the skin is fully re-epithelialized. Ask your Doctor before shaving.
Please note that if you do not follow the strict post ultraClear protocol, you can have impaired healing or delayed healing and complications such as infection, which can lead to scarring.
